School of Metallurgical Engineeringheldits 2021 commencementceremonyon June 24. 2021 in the lecture hall on the first floor of the new College Student Activity Center. AHUT President Wei Xianwen, the party and government leading cadres of the school, members of Academic Degree Committee, representatives of parents, alumnus and teachers and all the graduating students of 2021 class attended the ceremony, which was presided over by Yang Jian, Deputy Secretary of the College Party committee.
The ceremony started with the solemn national anthem and AHUT President Wei Xianwen delivered a commencement speech, where he extended his warm congratulations and dearest wish to all the graduating students of the 2021 Class, and expressed his grateful thanks to the diligent teaching staff and parents. President Wei stressed in his address that all the graduating students should establish aspirations and grasp their own life courses, have a good sense of social responsibility and stick fighting throughout the youth, become a useful person and develop powerful skills, and bear the great responsibility and shoulder the historic mission. At last, President Wei said“My dear students, six days later, we will greet the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. The past one hundred extraordinary years have witnessed that the Communist Party of China has led all the Chinese people to embark on a steep but magnificent, arduous but broad Chinese road, creating a beautiful and happy life for all of us. Looking ahead to the grand blueprint for the future, the young people will continue to pave the road to national rejuvenation and contribute to the construction of the motherland under the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party.”
Li zhi from the Class 171 of Metallurgical Engineering Major, Zhang Yudong of the postgraduate class 2018 in Metallurgical Engineering and Chang Jie from Class 181 of Resource Processing and Recycling Major delivered commencement speech respectively on behalf of undergraduates, post-graduates and on-campus students. Shen Chang, who graduated in 2000, now the head of the Steelmaking Technology Institute of the Masteel Technology Center of Baowu Group, Sun Weiping, the father of Sun Shanwei from Class 173 of Material Formation and Control Engineering Major, Fam Youqi from the Department of Nonferrous Metallurgy also delivered speeches on half of the alumnus, parents and teachers. The leaders seated at the rostrum awarded the honorary certificates to the students for“Outstanding Graduates of Anhui Province Higher Education Institutes”,“Outstanding Graduates of Anhui University of Technology” and“Second Class Transcript”.
In the following degree-awarding ceremony, President Wei and representatives of Academic Degree Committee plucked the tassel from the honorary hoods and awarded degrees and certificates to the new graduates.
